Draw a measurement line on the flat sketch and enter its value. It appears on the measurements page too. You can apply grading rules there, hide or show lines, change the order and labels, and choose centimeters or inches. For inches, you can use decimals or fractions.
Before you start
- Open a tech pack with a flat sketch.
- Have your sample measurements and grading rules ready.
How to do it
Add a measurement line
Draw a line on the flat sketch, name the measurement, and enter the value. The example adds shoulder width.
Check the measurements page
The flat sketch page has your sample size measurements and lines. The measurements page has the values for all sizes, including graded specs. Find your new measurement there and apply your grading rules.
Show or hide the lines
Toggle measurement lines off if you do not want them shown. You can also hide all or show all. Check the PDF to see the change.
Change the order and labels
Move the measurements into the order your team uses. You can also use numbers instead of letters for the labels.
Choose your units
Choose centimeters or inches. If you use inches, choose decimals or fractions. Check the values with your team.
An example
Add shoulder width
Draw a shoulder-width line on the flat sketch and enter your sample value. Find shoulder width on the measurements page, then add your grading rules.
Things to check
- The flat sketch page shows your sample size values. Check the measurements page for the other sizes.
- Check the units and inch format before you share the PDF.
- Your team still needs to check the measurements, grading, fit and samples. Changing the chart does not replace those checks.

Today let’s talk about editing measurements inside AI Tech Packs. Your flat sketch page holds the flat sketch, sample size measurements, and measurement lines. The measurements page holds all the measurement values: your graded specs. To add a new measurement, draw a line on the flat sketch, for example shoulder width, and enter the value. Shoulder width is added on the measurements page and stays in sync. From there, we can apply grading rules. Some brands do not want to show measurement lines. You can toggle them off, hide all, or show all. The PDF updates as the editor updates. You can also reorder measurements; for some brands the order matters. You can change your indexing system, using numbers instead of letters. You can change the unit of measurement from centimeters to inches. In inches, choose decimals or fractions.
